Contrary to popular belief, urine is not the golden holy water the world makes it out to be. It does not save you from jellyfish, treat bacterial infections, or clear the acne on your face.
The belief that urine has healing properties is based on thousands of years of cultures and health specialists entwined into the same myth and energy that fuels people to believe that Jesus turned water into wine or Noahs Ark was an actual thing.
Urine is your body’s liquid waste
You have solid waste (what you shit out) and you have liquid waste (what you pee out). Urine is made of things you would want to keep far far far away from your face. Salt, phosphorus, and chemicals like urea and uric acid, the toxic sewage collected from your kidneys and other bad stuff from your blood.
Despite what many cultures believed and what people today are preaching, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that urine does anything to treat acne. Even the common belief of urinating on a jellyfish isn’t medically sound. In the real world, if you tried to save someone from a jellyfish attack and you urinated on them; you would cause more pain on that person. Urine aggravates the jellyfish’s stingers into releasing more venom. The whole urine thing is fiction!
So there is nothing healthy about urine?
That’s a tough question. Urea does do some good things for the skin. It keeps dry skin moisturized and acts as exfoliant keeping dead cells from collecting on the surface of your skin.
BUT, keep in mind that a lot of skin care products use a synthetic form of urea, without the human waste. These synthetic formulas are cleaner, more targeted, and much more effective. So there is no point in using urine to treat your acne other than wanting to be a hipster.
What is the best and healthiest way to treat my acne?
The most effective and forward leaping treatment for treating acne is Cannabidiol, also known as CBD. It is non-toxic, natural-producing and our bodies are naturally designed with an endocannabinoid system that CBD naturally interacts with.
CBD is a miracle plant and that is an understatement. CBD has been clinically proven to treat a long list of ailments including depression, anxiety, pain management, insomnia, and eczema.
In one 2014 study, researches found that CBD not only hindered oil production on the skin but also had anti-inflammatory effects on oil-producing glands.
